The service life of a vehicle usually depends on its key component-the engine. The engine is like the "heart" part of the human body, and a good filter is equivalent to the "kidney" part of the body to expel toxins. During the operation of the diesel engine, the impurities deposited in the fuel system and the dust suspended in the air will pollute the diesel and affect the quality of the diesel itself. Therefore, the fuel filter on the car is essential. Most diesel engines use a high-pressure common rail fuel system. In order to ensure high-pressure injection, the system needs to accurately control the injection pressure, injection flow and injection time. Its accessories are very exquisite workmanship, so there are higher requirements for diesel quality, especially the control of diesel cleanliness, which is quite strict. If there is unfiltered moisture or impurities in the diesel fuel, long-term use will cause damage to the injector high-pressure pump. Impurities that are not filtered will directly cause the wear of the parts in the injector. The damage of the injector will cause problems such as unstable engine operation, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption, which will affect the normal operation of the injector. In addition, fuel with too high water content enters the engine, which will reduce its combustion efficiency and cause poor engine acceleration. However, if inferior diesel is added, its sulfur content is high, and it is easy to react with water to generate sulfuric acid during combustion, which gradually corrodes engine parts and reduces the service life of the truck. At the same time, the components of the high pressure common rail system are very expensive. If the electronically controlled injector is damaged, the maintenance cost is quite high. In contrast, the price of the filter is much more moderate, followed by the price, mainly to ensure the integrity of the truck performance, extend the service life of the vehicle, reduce maintenance costs, and save worry and effort.
The engine needs to inhale a lot of air during operation. If the air is not filtered, the dust suspended in the air is sucked into the cylinder, which will accelerate the wear of the piston group and the cylinder, and larger particles will enter between the piston and the cylinder. It will cause serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon, especially in dry and sandy working environment. The air filter is installed in front of the carburetor or intake pipe to filter dust and sand in the air to ensure that the air entering the cylinder is sufficient and clean.
Among the thousands of parts and components of a car, the air filter is a very inconspicuous component, because it is not directly related to the technical performance of the car, but in the actual use of the car, the air filter is (especially the engine) Has a great impact on the service life. On the one hand, if the air filter has no filtering effect, the engine will inhale a large amount of air containing dust and particles, causing serious wear and tear of the engine cylinder; on the other hand, if the air filter is not maintained for a long time during use, the filter element of the vacuum cleaner It will be filled with dust in the air, which will not only reduce the filtering capacity, but also hinder air circulation, causing the mixture to be too thick and the engine to work abnormally. Therefore, regular maintenance of air filters is essential.
The air filter is the gas mask of the engine. It can filter out most of the impurities in the air and provide clean air for the engine. Therefore, its role is very large. In daily use, it must be cleaned frequently and replaced in time., Make sure the engine sucks clean air
When the engine is working, it is divided into four strokes, one of which is the intake stroke. During this stroke, the engine piston descends, forming a vacuum in the intake pipe, sucking air into the combustion chamber of the engine, mixing and burning with gasoline.
So, can the air around us directly feed the engine? The answer is no. We know that the engine is a very precise mechanical product, and the cleanliness of the raw materials is very strict. The air contains a certain amount of impurities, which will cause damage to the engine. Therefore, the air must be filtered before entering the engine. This device is an air filter, commonly known as an air filter element.
The engine needs two raw materials to work: gasoline and air. Gasoline is purchased by us, added to the fuel tank of the car, filtered by the fuel supply system, and then sent to the combustion chamber of the engine to mix and burn with air. And the air does not need to be purchased, just take it directly. How does the air enter the engine? Do you still need to filter?
Automobile mechanical filter is also called "oil filter". The function of the mechanical filter is to filter impurities in the oil flowing in the lubrication system. After the engine has been running for a period of time, some impurities will be produced.
These impurities are mainly divided into two categories: one is the metal debris worn by the engine parts during operation; the other is the black mud-like organic matter (carbon deposits) produced by the chemical change of the engine oil at high temperature during the engine operation.). These impurities are mixed into the engine oil and move with the engine oil in the lubrication system.
So, must the oil filter be replaced at the same time as the oil is maintained?
Yes, it must be replaced. If the engine filter is not replaced, about 25% of the pollutants in the old engine filter will re-enter the oil cycle, which will not only increase the chance of engine wear, but also reduce the performance of the new oil. Therefore, when changing the oil, the filter must be replaced, which also helps to extend the service life of the engine.
Since the filter must be replaced every time maintenance, is it possible to change the oil?
No, the oil will lose its original performance if it is used for a long time. When the oil is lubricated, it will play a certain cooling effect. In fact, simply speaking, the oil filter can only filter out the metal debris mixed into the oil, and it is useless to the dust inside! Therefore, we need to change the oil filter regularly, and also need to change the oil according to the maintenance manual!
Every time the car is maintained, the small tin can on the car must be unscrewed and replaced. This is our oil filter, which is replaced with random oil.
So the question is, how long does this oil filter usually change per kilometer? What is its longest life span? How long is its replacement cycle?
Before understanding this problem, let's first understand this oil filter.
Our current oil filters are basically spin-on oil filters. Outside is a round iron box, inside is folded filter paper. This kind of filter paper is the core material of our machine filter. The current machine filter paper is thermally cured, so it has a certain hardness and strength. Unlike our ordinary paper, it can withstand oil pressure and is not easy to deform.
The oil filter is screwed into the middle part of the oil circuit. The bottom is the oil pan and the top is the engine. Its main function is to filter impurities and dirt in the oil, provide clean lubricating oil for the engine, reduce wear and extend the service life of the engine.
It works like this. It has an oil inlet and an oil outlet. The oil in the oil pan flows from the oil inlet check valve to the filter. The incoming dirty oil is on the edge of the filter, on the outside of the filter paper, and then filtered by the filter paper. The clean oil flows out from the center of the filter and is sprayed to all parts of the engine.
This is a normal working process, but there will be some special circumstances. For example, our machine filter has been used for a long time, and the filter paper of the machine filter has too many impurities, blocking the filter paper holes, which will cause the oil to flow out. If the amount of oil used becomes less, less oil enters the engine, which will affect the lubrication and operation of the engine. What am I supposed to do?
In fact, at this time, in order to ensure the amount of oil flowing into the engine and maintain the oil pressure, there is a spring valve at the bottom of the oil filter, called a bypass valve, which will automatically open to allow unfiltered oil to flow out of the bottom valve. Go in, merge with the oil in the center of the filter, and flow into the engine together, but the mixed oil at this time is oil with impurities.
How long can the machine filter last?
In fact, the quality of our machine filter is no problem, filter paper in a short period of time will not be deformed due to oil pressure and immersion.
However, the service life of the machine filter is mainly judged by its filtering capacity, not its own quality. Just now we mentioned that if there are too many impurities and grease in the oil, it will adhere to the filter paper, block the filter hole, and cause the oil pressure to become lower, so that the impurity oil directly enters the engine, which is equivalent to the oil not being filtered. In fact, this time is already the time to change the filter element.
Therefore, the replacement of the machine filter depends on the cleanliness of the oil. Let's take an example. For example, we changed the oil and filter element. If we run 5000 kilometers and do not change the oil for maintenance, we just change the filter element, but the time for replacing the filter element next time will not reach the 5000. Kilometers, maybe 2000 kilometers, 3000 kilometers will be changed, because the old oil has more impurities than the new oil.
Therefore, in most cases, the service life of the oil filter is 5000 kilometers and it is for new oil.
